I’ve always been a sucker for the Jeff Canham’s skillful sign painting. Last week I came across this: For The Birds: Avian Establishments For The Urban Birds .

Here, he and Luke Bartels combine immaculate craftsmanship with a wry sense of humor. These amazing objects present a whole village of bird houses, or rather bird businesses: The Condor Club Peep Show, Madame Cuckoo Psychic, Night Owls Bar, Pigeon Hole Motel… each one adorable, meticulous, and completely one of a kind. Strangely enough I stepped onto my old skateboard for the first time in at least eight years rolling into town. Felt very odd for a minute then well lush. On Sidwell Street is even a mini bank where the pavement buckled and I did a carve on it. SLAAAASH!

The ollie is lush. Respect for keeping it real, holding down a tough job, landscaping a huge Schrebergarten in his spare time (watch out for next year’s mini pipe), holding on to a girlfriend, still going to gigs, collecting anything skate, putting it online and most of all STILL GOING SKATING!
